Sore Throat

This Monday, Ying Ying got sore throat for the very 1st time in her life. Her voice was hoarse and I figured the culprits must be all the 'heaty' biscuits my in-laws have been feeding her. You see, they like to offer her biscuits and cookies everyday ok - occasionally for breakfast and sometimes in between meals. I suppose they are trying to 'fatten' her up but I think it forms a very bad eating habit cos there is so much sugar in them. When Ying Ying was younger, I used to give her only plain wheat crackers for snacks and she would relish them to no end. Now she is no longer thrilled by crackers bcos she has so many other 'tastier' choices. I am concerned abt her sugar intake bcos Ying Ying does not have a habit of brushing her teeth daily - she dislikes having her teeth brushed and it takes a mighty long time to persuade her to do it. I guess it is also our fault for not enforcing the routine. :/

Anyway, according to my fil, her sore throat was not because of the things she ate; but due to excessive reading aloud. Huh? He explained he was fetching her from school that day and when he peeked into the classroom, he saw Ying Ying reading aloud, surrounded by 3-4 of her bigger-sized classmates (she is the smallest in the whole school). Apparently, she had been reading to them for quite a while. When I heard about this from husband, I thought it was hilarious - Ying Ying got a sore throat from reading very loudly to her classmates for a long time? And they were actually listening to her stories? hahahaha... So farnie. So cute. Ahhh... how I wish I could be there to witness the scene for myself...
