The Emperor's New Clothes

Husband took Ying Ying to watch the play The Emperor's New Clothes @ DBS Arts Centre last Saturday. Sadly, I couldn't join them because no infant in arms was allowed.

Since the play was only about 45mins long, I loitered at Central Mall with Mei Mei to wait for them. I later walked to Funan becuase I found Central too boring with nothing much to see.

Then husband called to complain that the front row seats I have gotten for them was way too near - like barely one metre away from the stage and they had to strain their necks a bit. I was quite surprised because the Sistic auto-selection system had indicated that they were best seats available and I had made the booking quite early ahead. He said I should have gotten them circle seats above so that they could have a bird's eye view of the stage. But how would I know right? I mean, normally for events, the front row seats are the most expensive right? There was only one standard pricing for this play so I had no way of telling which seats were the best. I felt bad about getting lousy seats for them but at the same time, I was also upset with the organisers for selling front row seats that were obviously too close to the stage.

Anyway, husband said the lead actor (the emperor) was quite funny and the older kids were laughing away. I asked Ying Ying if she had enjoyed the show and she said yes. How I wish I could be there to watch it with them...
