Hospital Visit

Ying Ying went on her 1st hospital visit to see her paternal grandma at NUH today.

Her grandma was originally scheduled for a brain surgery on Thu (to rid a tumour in her brain). However, the surgery was postponed to Sept because her cardiologist told her today she had to first undergo a 'balloon' procedure to clear a blockage in her heart. So she had to be hospitalised today for the procedure to take place tomorrow.

Initially, hubby did not want Ying Ying to go as he was afraid she might catch some viruses there. (Although he said nobody would bring a baby on hospital visit, we later saw a couple of visiting babies at the hospital lobby who were much younger than darling!) Anyway, I insisted on taking her along because I knew how much she would cheer her grandma up. (She has grown to be very attached to darling after taking care of her for about half a year when I was working.)

I was glad we took her there because her grandma's face lit up immediately when she saw Ying Ying. The latter was so sound asleep then that she did not even stir when her smiling grandma playfully squashed her chubby cheeks and stroked her arms. But just when we were about to leave, her eyes suddenly opened. Upon realising that she was in a dark (the lights were dimmed because visiting hours were over), strange and unfamiliar environment, she started to fuss. We quickly left because we did not want to disturb other patients in the ward.

I think I will bring Ying Ying to visit her grandma again tomorrow. Hopefully, she will recover faster after seeing her precious granddaughter. :)
