Our family of 4 went to the Chingay parade at City Hall last Sat. It was our first time there and boy, what an amazing experience we had! I have gotten the tickets as soon as they were launched online and managed to secure good aisle seats. My parents think I am crazy to fork out $55 per ticket since they could watch it FOC when the floats drive past their Kallang flat to park at the PA near National Stadium. But I have no regrets because for the first time in our lives, we got a chance to sit so close (less than 10 metres) away from our national leaders who included Wong Kan Seng, George Yeo, Mah Bow Tan, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong and even the President Nathan himself. I don't think we can get the same privilege to sit so close to such VVIPs even at a NDP! I have posted more fotos on Facebook cos it is real slow to upload them here.
Although the event was telecasted the following night, the experience was totally different. I asked Ying Ying if she would like to go there again or watch it on TV next year. She replied, "Go there. Because it (the TV screen) is very small." Hahahahaaa.....
