Here is a collage of some snapshots I took when I had the chance to pick Ying Ying up from school during the CNY period.

I think her Chinese teacher, Lee Laoshi, is SO talented in drawing that I had to compliment her. Her cute cartoon drawings looked like they were taken straight from the books. (See above: birthday dinosaur and body part poster) Ying Ying likes her very much and we are so thankful that she could follow up with the class from last year though we equally missed her English teacher, Ms Ruth who was asked to teach another class this year.
There had been some problems in recruiting a new English teacher for the class since the beginning of the year. Two teachers had chickened out due to personal reasons and the ex-principal, Ms Donna, had to come in to help out with the English lessons. They even got a certain 'Michael korkor' to assist Lee Laoshi. 'Michael korkor' turned out to be a skinny Indian youngster awaiting his O level results and Lee Laoshi said the kids adore him. Of course lah, can bully what. Hahahahaha!! ;)
Today, much to my relief, I learned from a school handout that the class finally got a permanent English teacher called Ms Petrina. She was nice enough to call me in the afternoon to introduce herself. She started just yesterday and Ying Ying already said she likes her. Well, that is a good sign to me!
I really hope Ms Petrina will be as good as Ms Ruth, if not better! I don't mind if she is not as experienced. Enthusiasm can always make up for it whereas experience may sometimes lead to complacency. Keeping my fingers crossed!
