We finally got down to taking meimei for her very first swim last week. I know we should have done it much earlier since the pool is readily available at my IL's condo. But the problem is, by the time we usually get there, it is already time for the dinner. But that day, we managed to reach there relatively early and since the weather was great, I decided we MUST get to the pool before meimei turns 1 next month! (In contrast, Ying Ying got her first swim at around 3-4mth old.)
The polka dot tankini meimei wore was actually meant for Ying Ying but the latter didn't get a chance to wear it because the cutting was too small. Thank goodness meimei is a girl heehee.......
Well, as you can tell from the above photo, the little one was clearly frightened. I didn't expect her to be so afraid since she loves playing with water during her bathtime since birth. Maybe she wasn't used to the cool pool water. She 'grumbled' for quite some time before she eventually calmed down. Looks like we have gotta take her to the pool more often!
Digression: Can you believe my ILs have never gone to the pool or the gym since they move there 4yrs ago? Think my SIL has only gone into the water once or twice. Sometimes I really wonder why they wanna stay in a condo when they don't use any of the facilities apart from free parking. If we live in a condo *wishful thinking*, then I will surely take the girls swimming EVERYDAY and work out at the gym too!!! Ok lah, I should be thankful - maybe they bought the condo for us to enjoy. Who asks you not to stay with them????? :p
