Quick Lunch Break

I squeezed out time to have a quick lunch with friend S yesterday, with mei-mei tagging along in the stroller. It felt good to catch up with an old pal and communicate with an adult other than my husband. It breaks the monotony of everyday routine like nursing, feeding, bathing, cooking and other household chores.

But because of the lunch appointment, I was late in fetching Ying Ying for the first time. I should have left the place earlier but I chose to stay on and chat a while more, thinking I still had time and the schoolbus was sometimes late in arrival. But turned out the bus was right on dot today. I saw it turning into the carpark but I was still like 200m away from my block! Think they waited for about 2-3mins. I felt bad and embarrassed because that meant that all the caregivers of the remaining 5 kids in the van gotta wait a while longer. Sorrieeee!!!! *sigh*

Not only that, I could not get down to finish hanging out my laundry till late evening. Such a simple chore but it was delayed because I was busy nursing, bathing and feeding Ying Ying. And because I wanted to get the laundry chore done, I couldn't take Ying Ying down to the playground since it was too late by the time I finished. Sorrieeeee darling!!!! *guilty*

Anyway, S suggested meeting up for lunch again as I have "nothing much to do" at home since I am not working. Well, she is JUST SO WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I didn't bother to argue with or explain much to her because no matter what I say, she probably wouldn't understand since she has no kids. I am saying this cos I was once, on the other side of the fence like her. Wish I have more friends who are SAHMs....
