Here's a clip of Ying Ying reading voraciously at her special reading corner which I had created for her five months ago. This cosy corner is actually situated in the extended area of our master bedroom. It is her favourite area in the house I think, judging on the number of times she hangs out there. I have strategically placed a variety of age-appropriate books on the lower shelves so that she can have easy access whenever she feels like reading. Ying Ying never fails to visit her reading corner at least once everyday. She is just contented sitting down there and reading on her own. Well, strictly speaking, she can't exactly read yet - more like busy herself turning the pages and looking at all the interesting illustrations. Sometimes she gets so engrossed that I really hate to interrupt her! Anyway, I am so pleased she has developed a keen interest in books and I truly hope her passion for reading will be a lifelong thing! :)
