Crackers

Ying Ying self-fed a cracker today!! :) She saw me eating a wheat cracker and reached out for it. She insisted on holding it and putting it into her mouth by herself. I am so happy my little baby is growing up! :)

Ahhh.... no wonder she has been stuffing all sorts of things into her mouth lately. There was once her papa even caught her chewing happily on a hair-clip! A choking hazard!! That's why we seldom let her wear hair-clips nowadays - she kept pulling them off and putting them into her mouth. Turned out this is a sign that she's ready for SELF-FEEDING!!! Hooooray!!! I just can't wait for her to eat independently one day. I am getting very tired of having to feed her (which takes forever) and take my meals together at the same time everyday. Her papa can't feed her because he's the impatient type. A few spoonful and he would declare her to be "full already". So I have to do all the feeding myself. Sigh.

Anyway, I realise all those baby teething biscuits sold in the supermarkets are such a waste of money. Not only are they expensive, they taste awfully bland and are as hard as rocks. Previously, I had never thought of giving Ying Ying cream crackers. But recently, I developed a craving for it after having it for night snack during my hospital stay (see previous post). I was super hungry then and the crackers tasted soooo good with hot Milo. Come to think of it, the good o' cream crackers are definitely a healthier alternative compared to other biscuits like the cream-laden Oreo. Today, as I was sharing the crackers with Ying Ying today, I suddenly recalled eating butter cream crackers dipped in sweet kopi-O brewed by my late paternal grandmother over at my cousin's place many years ago. Very nostalgic... I can almost smell the fragrance of the kopi-O and taste the soggy bits of the crackers as I am typing this. Hmmm....
