Ying Ying @ Kindermusik

Took Ying Ying for her second session of Kindermusik Zoombuggy class at Tanglin Mall today. I am so pleased that she really enjoyed herself. She kept walking around happily exploring the studio room and observing other toddlers like her. I think it is wonderful exposure for her considering the fact that she doesn't have any cousins nor friends around her age to interact with.

Well, the only thing I dread is the distance. Believe it or not, it takes me close to 2hr (I kid you not) to get there from home. Here's an estimated breakdown:

15min - Set off fr home to Punggol MRT. Had to walk there - I can't manage boarding the bus with a stroller, the bags (yes plural - 1 big diaper bag; 1 sm drink bag; 1 sm food bag; 1 sm shoe bag) not to mention a 9kg Ying Ying.

45min - Took train from Punggol to Dhoby Ghaut station

15min - Switched to North-South line; Take train to Orchard

25min - Speedwalked from Orchard MRT to the ulu Tanglin Mall

The first time I went there, I walked so fast (we set off late) for so long that I had leg cramps the following day. By the time I reached there, I was flushing and perspiring like mad. The hot afternoon sun and the humid weather made it worse. I wondered how all those parents got to the class coolly. Either they drive or stay in those posh apartments nearby.

Curious, I casually asked one parent today where she stayed. Turned out she stayed in Woodlands (!) and she had taken a cab there. I guess I could have taken a cab too but loading and unloading the barang-barangs plus folding and unfolding the stroller seems so troublesome. That Woodlands mother didn't have a stroller with her and she only carried one bag.

Maybe I will consider taking a cab in the event of emergency (i.e. real late). Meanwhile, I'll just regard the 2hr weekly journey as a calorie-burning activity. Thank goodness it is a only one-way trip (hubby comes and picks us up after that though we have to hang around the mall for an hour or two till he knocks off).
