Little Red Car

Just the other day, I blogged about my wish to get a kitchen set for Ying Ying. To my delight, the very next day, there was Toy r'us ad (that came with the Straits Times), advertising a 40% sale on the very kitchen model I was looking for! It was as if my prayer had been answered!

So I happily went down to Forum to place an order the following day. I was so pleased I had gotten the last kitchen set. There was a good discount on a buggy car too (from the same manufacturer Step 2) and I could get a $40 Toy r'us voucher (instead of a $15 one) if I get both the car and the kitchen set together. Husband wasn't too keen though - he said we were spoiling her and we should get only either the kitchen or the car. But it was too hard for me to give up the $40 voucher. I thought long and hard before deciding to get her... both. :p

Initially, I thought of delaying the delivery till just before Christmas. But in the end I didn't cos I couldn't wait to see them (as if they are meant for me). Anyway, we don't celebrate Christmas in a traditional way as in exchanging presents so it doesn't really matter I guess. I arranged for the toys to be delivered to my in-law's place so Ying Ying would have something to occupy herself when I am away at work (instead of watching SCV with her grandma *frown*).

My Little Red Car

So this is Ying Ying's little red car. The kitchen set is just behind, a bit hidden from view. The car is her no.1 favourite toy now. It is the first thing she heads for the moment we reach my in-law's place. She likes it so much that she even tried to hug the car (by touching the roof) when she first played with it. In fact, yesterday night, she announced loudly, "I love car."

Seriously, I didn't expect her to be so in love with the car which I didn't even think of buying it in the first place. I thought she would like to play with the kitchen set more - hey I even splurged on some play food as props for the kitchen! Maybe it is just my own fantasy lah... Thank goodness I decided to get the car for her afterall.

Ying Ying - you are such a lucky girl!
