Shapes

This lift-flap Fisher-Price book is one of Ying Ying's latest collection and is also one of her favourites at the moment.

While reading this book with her yesterday night, I asked her to find the various shapes hidden beneath the flaps. To my surprise, she reached out and opened correctly all the 7 shapes I asked for - Star, Circle, Oval, Square, Triangle, Rectangle and Diamond! I couldn't believe it! I was very excited and told hubby about it later. But Ying Ying refused to repeat her 'performance'. This time round, she just wanted to open whatever flaps she liked.

Nonetheless, I am still pleased and amazed that she has finally shown evidence of learning something. All those hours of reading and watching educational VCDs with Ying Ying have not gone down the drain! :)
