To-do List

Things to do before no.3 comes along:

1) Launder BB clothes and cloth diapers > BY END OF SEPT.

2) Clear space in master wardrobe for BB clothes and diapers > BY END OF SEPT.

3) Set up, clean and disinfect cot >BY END OF SEPT.

4) Buy new cot mattress > DONE.
We threw out the old mattress last year when we renovated our place. BIG REGRETS when I realised that 5-year-old, stained-hundred-times Babysafe mattress cost us $250!!! *faint* Would have probably cost only $30 to have professional mattress cleaners to come in to clean it. Ah well. Since Kiddy Palace is having their 20% annual sale for members till end of June, I decided to get it now to save $50.

5) Fix up Peg Perego stroller or get a new one > BY END OF SEPT.
The current one is now in cold storage because the wheel mechanism is a bit faulty, especially hard to turn when going round corners. Need to call up and enquire the cost of servicing. The storage bag below is also torn and will cost us about $30 to get a new one. Will have to get a new model if cost too much for servicing. :/

6) Buy comfortable and presentable nightshirts (See previous post) > BY END OF SEPT.

7) Buy nursing bras > DONE.
I threw out all my old nursing bras for wired bras last year. BIG REGRETS again because they were actually still wearable though they all looked worn out. Not cheap - they were either from Mothercare or Triumph and each one cost me about $40 on average. Anyway, I bought 6 new pcs at Mothercare last Sunday. Buy 3 items get 20% off. How could I miss out on the offer?

8) Declutter the study room > BY END OF JUL. (i.e. end of 2nd trimester)
ILs will surely faint if they see the dust-covered mess occupying 1/2 the room.

9) Buy new dining set > BY END OF SEPT.
ILs are coming over for 1 month to have lunch and dinner during my confinement and problem is we have no dining table right now. We have got rid of our bulky wooden rectangular Lorenzo table before the renovation started because its 'designer' legs seemed to be somewhat shakey. (The accompanying 4 chairs are just taking up space at my parents' place now.) Can't possibly ask the old folks to eat at the kids' IKEA table or at the sofa, right? *sigh* Hubby wants a round glass table this time round. We will see how.....

10) Intensify on teaching Pam Pam how to read and write > ON-GOING.
In this area, she is lagging at least 1 year behind as compared to Ying Ying when she was at the same age. I fear I will have little time to coach her when no.3 comes along. :( So I am trying to spend as much time as I can to do reading and writing with her now.

11) Practise Chinese with Ying Ying > ON-GOING.
Ying Ying is a very independent and self-motivated learner now. She has certainly benefitted from her daily Kumon English (level D1) and Math (level 2A) regime for the past 1 year 4 mths. Now just need to work on her Chinese word recognition, intonation and writing strokes. I have been getting her to work on her Chinese assessment books I bought. She has also been reading aloud 2 to 3 Chinese storybooks nightly for the past couple of weeks. I am happy with her progress so far and hope her interest in Chinese language will continue.
