PearPearPear

This is the name PamPam has thought of for her new sister. Everytime we try to brainstorm for names, she would go, "How about pear-pear-pear?" We would go huh???????? Dunno where she got this name from! So cute.

Ying Ying once suggested the name to start with letter I because it is the 3rd letter in her name Faith. She reasoned since Angie has the second letter A in her name, the baby should take the 3rd letter. Errrr, unfortunately I am not very keen because I still like the idea of another A name to go with their surname Ang. Nevermind if the first name (Faith) doesn't start with A!

Based on my experience for Faith, I decided subsequent names should be:

a) Easy to pronounce - You see, up till today, my mother keeps calling Faith "fate" even though I have corrected her many times. My MIL and SIL call her "Faye". More often than not, they refer to her as "the older one" when talking about her. But for Angie, they refer to her by her name. No mistakes.

b) More than 1 syllable - I observed names with 2 syllabus seems to be easier to call. My SIL kept calling Faith "Faye Ang" but she rarely calls Angie "Angie Ang".

So far, I have shortlisted:

1. Adora Ang - Short for adorable. Faith used to have a classmate with this name I thought it is quite unique yet simple. Who doesn't know Dora the explorer right? But how many people you know are called Dora? Very few, I bet.

2. Amanda Ang - Faith voted for this but I thought it's a bit too common though I used to like this name too.

3. Andrea Ang - I have heard different variations of pronunciation for this name on the news since it is the name of a local celebrity. Now I am not sure if Andrea should be pronouced as "ON-drea" or "on-DRAY" or "AND-drea". I used to have a student with this name and I have a habit of calling her "on-drea" even though she had said it was "and-drea". :p Looks classy but not sure if I want a debate on how to pronounce the name. More importantly, will the old folks have problems calling this name??

4. Audrey Ang - I used to have a JC classmate with this name and I thought it was so classy. Like Audrey Hepburn.

For now, I think I will go with Adora since it has 5 letters just like Faith and Angie. Heehee....

Which of the 4 would you choose?

Ahhh....thanks for your input. I very nearly called my first one Alexis but my hubby thought it was too 'manly'. Alyssa sounds a bit too 'westernised' for me ley. Will KIV though. heehee....
