Of Skirts and Skorts

Ying Ying has always been very against wearing skirts and dresses because she thinks it is "very embarrassing".

Maybe it is my fault for dressing her in tees and shorts all the time since she started preschool - I was paranoid about her "exposing" herself and felt that shorts and 3/4 pants would give her more "protection" when I was not around with her.

So now, she refuses to put on skirts and dresses unless I threaten her with a very good reason for doing so, e.g. attending a party/wedding/CNY visits etc.

Well, Pam Pam is less resistant to skirts and dresses BUT she tends to follow the 'leader'. So if the older one refuses to wear, she is unlikely to wear them too. *Sigh*

Recently, I couldn't resist buying a pair of cute denim skorts from my favourite Nissen website for the girls, even though I wasn't sure if they would be willing to wear. I love the idea of them wearing skirts yet not risk being 'exposed' with the attached shorts underneath. I bought them in Faith's size 110 in case she decides she doesn't mind wearing shorts BUT disguised as skirts. Heheh.

Despite this, the older one still refused to wear. *sigh* I give up.

But the good thing is - Pam Pam loves wearing them and she has grown tall enough to wear size 110! (She's about 97-98cm now) She kept saying "like princess" and "my friends (in school) also wear skirts". So cute. Think I will go get some more skorts for her. Heehee.... one more reason to spend money. :p
