I uploaded this pic on Facebook recently and my cousin Ah B thought it was farnie enough. It looked as if meimei was pulling pepe's ears for being naughty when in fact it was the other way round! Heheh...
Meimei likes to disturb pepe all the time - pull ears, touch paws, pull tail, touch nose etc. Our efforts to tell her not to do it have been in vain and we have to wash her hands countless times. Obviously, the old dog is getting to be quite fed up of being touched. There were a few times he nearly snapped at her, probably out of animal instinct. But that did not deter the curious little one from disturbing him again! -_-
As for Ying Ying, it was much easier because she can rationalise. I just told her not to touch pepe because he is dirty as he only bathes once a week. I also warned her not pull pepe's ears or tail otherwise they MAY 'drop off' and there would be a lot of blood and it would be very painful for pepe. Eversince I gave her this absurd explanation, she stopped bullying him. Hahahahhaaa....
What can I say? The girls have fallen in love with pepe. But pepe is an old dog. I have known him as long as I know my own husband. He is abt 12yrs now. In doggy years, it's 12 x 7 = 84!! That makes him the oldest member of the ang clan since the matriarch (husband's paternal grandmother) is 82. I hope he will still be around for many more years to watch the girls grow up before he finally crosses over the rainbow bridge. :/
