I can't believe it when I heard meimei coughing in her sleep AGAIN last night and just now.
Just within the 1st half of this year, the poor girl went through THREE cycles of antibiotics for ear infection. In fact, she was on antiviral medicine just 2 weeks ago. But I stopped a few days ago, thinking she had fully recovered since her cough and running nose had stopped. So I guess it's back to medicine again. Thank goodness she showed no signs of fever which is an indication of infection, and in her case, most likely middle ear infection.
That aside, luckily it's school holidays now. She has already missed 5 lessons of her 20 playnest sessions last term. That's like $50 x 5 = $250 worth of lessons! *gasp* Quite a bit of money, as I think abt it now. I only realised recently that makeup lessons can be arranged for MC cases. Humpf! How come they never mentioned to us parents previously??? It didn't occur to me to take MCs for her when I took her to see the doctor. Must remember to call up the clinic and enquire tomorrow - I keep forgetting about this!
Both Ying Ying and meimei are breastfed exclusively. But Ying Ying has never been sick so frequently as meimei. Could it be because meimei started attending formal playschool earlier? Meimei started at 12.5mth while Ying Ying started at 18mth. However, Ying Ying has weekly 45min music lesson since 9mth. So I guess it could be that Ying Ying carries home viruses from school which she is now immune to. These days, I insist she takes a shower immediately after she reaches home even before she has her lunch. I even invested in some Germ Clean sanitising products just to be safe.
A GP once told me kids falling sick once a month is considered normal and this pattern will continue until they go to primary school when their immunity level is stabilised. So keeping them at home until 6 yrs old is the safest. -_-
What now, homeschool?!?
