Nappy Liners are RECYCLABLE!!!

We have been using nappy liners like there is no tomorrow since Mei Mei's birth. I reckon we used up 1 box each week since we changed her nappies very frequently.

THEN a few days ago, I read somewhere that liners are recyclable so long the baby hasn't poo-ed in it! Initially, I was quite sceptical because I thought liners are meant for one-time use like disposable diapers. But no harm giving it a try right? So yesterday I rinsed those used but unpoo-ed liners and air-dried them. They dried very quickly due to the thin material. Amazing, there was no ammonia smell even though I did not use any detergent! So I used those again, only discarding those hit by poo.

We use Pigeon* liners which cost $10.50/box of 100pcs so each pc is about 10cents. (Pigeon from Japan, though comparatively expensive, is softer, thinner and cooler than other brands.) Since I have recycled about 10 liners, this translates into a saving of about $1! Imagine if I were to save $1/day, 1 month = $30! We can give ourselves a treat with the $! Heheheh!!! I cant believe we have been throwing away $ like that.

I shared the marvellous cost-saving idea with husband and instructed him to do likewise from now onwards. But the man simply rolled his eyes and said, "Why? We can't afford liners, is it?!" -_-
