D-day?

Everyday I wonder when the D-day will come. This morning I woke up and nearly couldn't walk properly because my pelvic muscle area ached so much due to the pressure of the baby. But I didn't wanna take MC because I think it is a complete waste of time and $ to queue up to see the doc. Besides, today is one of my 'free-er' days so as to speak (only have 3 periods of teaching as compared to 5-8 on other days). Also, I have not taken any MC since I started work this year so I didn't wanna tarnish my 'clean' record lah.

I am reluctant to start on my maternity leave too cos I want to spend as much time with the newborn before I return to work. I am not very keen to take no-pay leave because I am such a spendthrift. I just spent a couple of hundreds on some Clarins (my current fav skincare brand) products yesterday cos there was some promotion going on. I still feel guilty as I think about it now cos I could have used the $ to get Ying Ying some new books or something else that would be beneficial to her development. :/

Anyway, I hope that D-day is going to be 3/3 cos Ying Ying's birthday falls on the 9/9. :) But at this rate the baby is growing, I am not sure if I can tahan until that day. If not, 22/2 is a nice date to remember too. Husband says she may just come out on the leap year date 29/2 so we will celebrate her birthday only once every 4 years. -_- Let's hope he's wrong!!!

List of to-dos before D-day:
  • Call to make arrangement for cord blood harvesting
  • Decide on a name!!!
  • Get cot ready - clear clutter, sun mattress, change cover, adjust it higher
  • Launder all the newborn clothes, towels, blankets, sarong carrier etc.
  • Get ready hospital pack to standby
  • Make appointment with a pediatrician to check on newborn
  • Make arrangement for postnatal massage
  • Shop for a new baby stroller (I unwittingly sold our ultra-light Combi away last year - was fed up cos it kept flipping over)
  • p/s Read somewhere that estimation of baby's weight via ultrasound can be rather inaccurate. But for Ying Ying, the estimation was quite close. During my last visit before I delivered Ying Ying, my gynae estimated her birth weight to be approximately 3.2kg which was not too far from her actual 3.35kg. But I have since changed my gynae. Hope he is just as good in his estimation - otherwise I would have a rude shock when the baby turns out to be under 3kg. hahaha!!
