These pics were taken about three weeks ago. Our RC had put up some nice lanterns and figurines right below our block for the residents' CNY celebration. So I took the opportunity to practise taking some shots with my new Canon PowerShot S5.
Ying Ying had accidentally damaged our 3.5-year-old Lumix F11 by dropping it during lunch at Jack's Place. The LCD screen hit the concrete wall and was cracked as a result of the impact. I called Panasonic and found out it would take at least $170 or so to repair. So we figured we might as well invest in a new camera. A friend recommended Canon S5 and we decided to give it a try.
Overall, I am very pleased with the new cam though I am still not used to its bulkiness (after owning compact cameras for so many years). The images and video clips taken were very much sharper and I can zoom in from a further distance away. Here are some more pics...
