Ying Ying has been crazy about the Singapore flag eversince I hung one just outside our living room at the beginning of August. When I first took the flag out of the store room, I told her that the Singapore flag has a crescent moon and I counted the stars with her. So now whenever she spots one outside, she will get all excited. She will point at it and exclaim, "Sing-pa-por!! Sing-pa-por!!" I was quite surprised that she could even associate other types of National Day flag and banners with Singapore. Perhaps that was because they mostly carried the design of a crescent moon and five stars even though the layout is different (i.e. the stars above the moon). I think she has fallen in love with the Singapore flag. How's that for a patriotic 2-year-old? Haha. I really wonder if other toddlers react the same way as she does. Hmmm....
