Weekend bonding time with Papa

Ying Ying enjoying herself at the slide
Love our Straw mat from Krabi - big, spacious and comfy!
Having fun burying Ying Ying's feet... Heheh
We took Ying Ying for a picnic at West Coast Park yesterday afternoon. The weather was fine and it was a lovely place for families to hang out. There were quite a number of expats probably because the park is near the universities and many MNCs. We were surprised to find that there were not just one or two but FIVE different play areas catered to different age group of kids. There was a huge open field and people were doing all sorts of activities - cycling, blading, playing frisbees, soccer and flying kites... you name it. It is really like a cleaner, prettier and less crowded version of East Coast Park - except that we couldn't see the sea at all as the shoreline was all fenced up due to some on-going construction. Otherwise it would be prefect!
Ying Ying enjoyed exploring the kid's playground and playing with the sand especially... because this is the first time she came in contact with sand! Errr.... a bit too late for a 16mth old eh? :p But better late than never right? Anyway, playing with sand wasn't as messy as I had thought. I simply brushed the sand off her after that and it wasn't sticky at all. There was a reasonably clean toliet (with loads of toliet papers even) and a big Mac's nearby. The play area got a bit more crowded towards the evening and thankfully it only started to rain as we left the place. We'll definitely take her there again. Maybe to fly a kite next time round! :)
