Playtime

This doggy truck is Ying Ying's favourite toy at the moment. I bought for her during the Popular Book Sale at Expo last weekend. It cost only $5 and comes with a set of plastic tools for playing with sand. Ying Ying finds the truck highly amusing. Whenever the truck moves, the doggy's mouth would open and close, making a funny squeaky sound as it does. There is a string attached to the mouth of the doggy truck (it came off when these two photos were taken but I fixed it back already). Sometimes I would pull string of the truck and 'lure' her from the bedroom to the hall or vice versa. Heheh...

But alas, pay monkey get peanuts. I found two red angry marks on Ying Ying's left calf yesterday. I suspect she must have accidentally scratched herself while playing with the truck. Upon closer inspection of the truck, I realised some of its plastic edges are rather sharp when pressed. Thankfully, the scratches didn't seem to bother her at all. So I still let her play since she likes it so much.

Another of Ying Ying's favourite activity is pushing this trolley around the room. She started playing with the trolley about a couple of month ago. She liked to take out the things from the trolley so I would put some toys or light objects for her there. Then she soon realised this trolley has wheels and can move. So she started pulling and pushing it around while sitting. After that, she became more adventurous and started playing with it standing (and holding onto the trolley for support). She wasn't so steady on her feet then. There was once I left her playing with it in the room for a short while. When I came back, to my horror, she was lying on the floor with the whole trolley on top of her! Her hands were still gripping tightly to the handles! She looked shocked but didn't cry.

Anyway, that episode did nothing to deter her from playing with trolley. In fact, she is becoming more and more daring in manoevouring it. She would push it quickly around the room confidently, expertly turning the handles if it is stuck at the wall or cupboard. A couple of days ago, she even pushed the trolley out of the room into the corridor. Very bold! She kept looking at me to check my expression. I really didn't know whether to praise her for being adventurous or discourage her from doing so! ^_^

Another of Ying Ying's favourite activity - crawling under the table and chairs. :)
