Last Friday, Angie's English teacher SMSed me -
"Hi Mrs Ang, saw that Angie was wearing her first princess dress today :), must have been influenced by the other girls! She was so happy with her dress and that she could be a princess today...she was in a very good mood, smiling most of the time! :) Thought I'd share this with u!"
Haha! There are currently 13 girls (including Angie) and 3 boys in her class. No wonder she was being 'influenced'!
I had bought the Disney Princess dress for Angie the other day because she kept talking about princess this and that. (I seldom buy clothes for her because she has tons of hand-me-downs from Faith.) It turned out to be a good buy because she kept opening the wardrobe door to admire her beautiful dress.
Dress aside, two weeks ago, Faith's classmate gave her a plastic hairband as part of her birthday party pack. Of course, our tomboy didn't want it. Instead, she gave it to Angie and called her a "princess", which made the latter beamed so brightly. She held on to her precious hairband for the rest of the week (until she accidentally broke it during one of her meltdowns in the car). But doting mummy has since bought another 10+ (!) to replace her 'loss'. :p
Hairband Girl
In contrast, Faith has never been into things girly and she stays away from skirts, dresses and other feminine accessories. Once, she remarked she 'hated' a family picture because she was wearing a 'yucky dress' in it. *roll eyes* She also insisted on having short hair instead of having it tied up even though I tried to convince her she will look smarter that way. She even declared she liked "all the boy things" like cars and Transformers. Now I am wondering if I have made a mistake in sending her to a girls' school! :/
