Bumwear

Mei-mei has been alternating between traditional cloth nappies, bumwear and disposable diapers since birth. She only wears cloth nappies at home and we put her in bumwear when we go on outings. We only use disposables outside when her bumwear are all used up. Recently, her stock of disposable diapers finally ran out (thank goodness cos she has outgrown the size S a long time back already) and I am so reluctant to replenish it because I don't see the need to.

Despite the convenience disposable diapers bring, I dislike using them because they are warm to wear in our climate. Plus, they are expensive to use and I find them wasteful. I usually change her immediately once I notice the urine indicator turns blue. So letting her wear disposables will be definitely be quite expensive in the long run. I know some parents prefer to wait till the diapers are too heavy to absorb any more urine so as to fully 'utilise' the diapers but I simply can't stand the idea of her lying in a soiled diaper albeit a disposable one. I am not into cheap diapers like drypers because I find the material used is much rougher and I do not want to risk a diaper rash.

Anyway, I snapped some photos of mei-mei in her bumwear diaper a few days ago to enter in the bumwear baby-of-the-month contest. The prize is one bumwear diaper, which will definitely come in handy now that she has no more disposables. I have submitted the photo above. Hope she wins! Personally, I like the photo below better which shows up her face a bit more. But since it is a bumwear contest, I thought the bumwear ppl would want to see more of the bumwear than the baby! *LOL*
