Meimei @ 16.5mth

Some facts about Meimei at 16.5mth:

- Started eating rice with soup about 3 wks ago. She rejected her usual porridge (I had to force-feed her) but showed interest in trying jiejie's food. So after abt a wk, we stopped cooking porridge for her.

- Can say: ma-ma, pa-pa (pa-paaaaaa), jie-jie, star (staahhhh), dog/dog-dog*, bird/bird-bird*, duck-duck*, car (cahhh), flower (she doubled up herself Hahahahaha)

- Can shake her head no and nod her head yes (I didn't consciously teach her those actions. Wonder where she picked them up!)

- Is walking more and more steadily now. Likes to hold our hands when walking.

- Can climb up the sofa and come down by herself.

- Can get down the bed with some help. (Our bed is higher than the sofa.)

- Can clap her hands when told.

- Can sign star with her hand/s.

- Can wave and kiss bye-bye.

- Can lie down on her back immediately when told just once.

- Can sit down when told but may not cooperate at times. (haha)

- Can pee/poo upon prompting at the sink or in her potty. (I tried putting her on jiejie's trainer once or twice abt a mth ago but stopped since she fell off the toilet bowl in an attempt to come down. I had turned around to get something and to my horror, the next second I found her on the toilet floor! :( tsk tsk.)

- Switch to wearing pull-ups for long outings abt 1-2 mths ago because she disliked being changed lying down.

- Like to follow jiejie around the house.

- Loves to watch Playhouse Disney with jiejie.

- Enjoys dancing to the music by turning round and round. Sometimes she would wave her hands or sway her body in her cute little way.

- Is a 100% daddy's girl; she calls out to pa-pa *sweetly* several times a day but none to ma-ma!!! (think she takes my presence for granted since I rarely leave her side since birth)

- Can get in and out of a playcar by herself.

- Is definitely bigger than jiejie at the same age. I have to keep a few clothes jiejie could wear at 18-24mth because they cant fit meimei now! (Mostly dresses cos they are so short that her bum can be seen. A pity cos some of the wearables are so pretty and I thought they could have a second life. haha.)

- Now practising moving up and down the steps with assistance.
