Travel Reviews

Since Faith was born, our family has been to the following places:
1. Phuket, Thailand (Feb 2007)
2. Melbourne, Australia (Nov 2007)
3. Hong Kong (Dec 2008)
4. Krabi, Thailand (May 2010)
5. Krabi, Thailand (May 2011)
6. Genting, Malaysia (June 2011)

Unfortunately, I never got down to blogging about any of them (!) - I dread writing about our travel ventures because I find there are simply too many stuff to cover. First day - blah blah, second day - blah blah blah.... Not to mention the tedious task of browsing through the 1000+ photos, selecting the presentable ones and then uploading them here one by one! I reckon it would probably take me at least a few days to finish a travel post. Sorrie! Too overwhelming for me. :p

However, for our recent 4D3N trip to Krabi, I posted a review on our stay at Sheraton on Tripadvisor. I was pleasantly surprised the write-up was still around when I last checked.

I always do some research on Tripadvisor prior to travelling. I find its info very helpful especially with regards to choosing which hotel to stay (since we are quite fussy in this aspect :p). Nothing beats reading genuine reviews written by people who have had the first-hand experience. Of course, some of the reviews may be biased and unfair. Well, like the saying goes, one man's meat is another's poison, so you really have to check and compare before deciding which hotel best suits your travelling needs and wants.

This reminds me - many years ago, I used to visit this website called Virtual Tourist (VT). I even posted a couple of travel reviews on my first trips to Hong Kong, Bali and Malacca. Sadly, the website was subsequently taken over (I think) and it became too commercialised for my liking. There were just too many pop-up ads and banners selling rooms or tours. Eventually, I stopped visiting VT altogether. I hope Tripadvisor will not end up like them!
