Now at the end of Phase 2B, vacancies left for
SMPS : 119
OLGC: 55
I was surprised to see the relatively high number of vacancies for SMPS. But I am expecting more to enrol in Phase 2C who will bound to include people who fail in balloting for the more popular schools under Phase 2B.
I would love to put Faith in SMPS because I have read many positive feedback about girls being very happy in that school. Unfortunately, distance-wise, it is just too far from where we stay. Its affiliated secondary school is even further!

Even though the SMPS school bus journey is about the same as OLGC - 1 hour (that is because the SMPS bus ferries only 12 girls while the OLGC bus takes in 20), at least I can keep open an option of ferrying her myself.
Husband likes OLGC because it is very close to his parents' place (<1km). He proposed moving there in future when the 'market crash' and property prices drop. In addition, the school is smaller (OLGC only has five P1 classes per level as compared to seven at SMPS) and past PSLE results seems to be better too.
So why am I still fantasizing about SMPS? Guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence....
